Strategic Enrollment Management
Given the forecasted demographic
changes and economic pressures within
our regional population, enrollments
have declined for the majority of
two-year colleges state-wide, including
Great Falls College MSU. Within this
challenging environment, the college
must be strategic in its enrollment
efforts. Not only is it important to
continue to attract new students
(recruitment), it is equally important to
focus on students’ flow through the
institution (retention), and persistence
to degree (completion). Student
factors to consider are quality
learning, skill attainment, and positive
student engagement experiences
(Ewell & Wellman, 2007).
