GREAT FALLS – The popular Science at the College demonstrations at Great Falls College MSU are back for fall semester with the first demonstration to be held Friday, Sept. 22.
This fall semester, Great Falls College MSU chemistry instructor Dr. Dan Casmier will again offer fun science demos that are free and open to the public.
These science experiments are presented in a way that actively engages the audience. The demonstrations are casual and informal, and often hands-on.
“My goal with Science at the College is to make science fun and approachable,” Casmier said.
This semester, attendees will learn how soundwaves can break glass, how lenses can harness and concentrate the sun’s power, and how rubber bands can be used to slice through watermelon.
Each experiment takes place on the Great Falls College MSU campus, 2100 16th Ave. S., on the dates listed below, all Fridays:
Based on the experiment, the time and location change. Details will be posted on the College’s website (www.gfcmsu.edu) and Facebook page (facebook.com/gfcmsu) in the week before the demo.
This Friday, Sept. 22, Dr. Casmier will demonstrate heat and thermal conductivity. The demo will begin at 2:30 p.m. in room B101 at Great Falls College MSU, 2100 16th Ave. S.
Science at the College is free and open to the public and is appropriate for all ages.
