Implementation
The scale and scope of proposed projects varies from
the simple act of moving furniture, all the way to large
scale remodels. Below is the proposed phasing of
projects, with an understanding that the order of work
may change as funding becomes available.
Funding and Cost Estimates
Considering the funding investment required, it may
not be possible to complete within the term of this
plan all capital projects proposed. Some outlays of
less than $100,000 may be addressed using existing
institutional funds. However, projects with more
significant funding needs must wait for funding from
the state, grants, or private sources to become
available. Phase One
Spring & Summer 2023
Planning and implementation for items in phase one
will begin immediately and will be completed by fall
2023. • Zone 1 of student support services: Academic
Success Center will move into the Weaver Library
in summer of 2023, student government and the
office of student engagement will move into the
office space at the front of the Weaver Library
(A120-A123) • Office of Institutional Effectiveness: office moves
will be completed over the spring and summer of
2023 • Outdoor Space: fencing will be erected on the
west side of campus and the wind turbine blade
will be removed
• Campus refresh: signs will be updated across
campus utilizing Lumina Foundation funding
Phase Two
Fall 2023-Summer 2025
Planning and implementation for items in phase 2 will
begin in fall 2023, with a targeted completion date of
fall 2025
• Zone 3 of student support services: secure
funding and begin design process for Military
Family Center and Native American Enrichment
Center; completion date dependent on funding
• Zone 4 of student support services: move
Technology Assistance Center into space vacated
by the Academic Success Center
• Campus redesign: b-wing computer lab upgrades
• Outdoor Space: create small group gathering
spaces around campus
• New program space: state approval and design
work, and fundraising for veterinary technician
remodel, with a target construction start date of
summer 2025.
• Deferred maintenance: fire suppression system
upgrade Phase Three
Fall 2025-Summer 2028
Planning and implementation for items in phase 3 will
begin in fall 2025, with a targeted completion date of
fall 2028
• Zone 2 of student support services: evaluate
current student central space for potential
remodel/redesign, adding office space and
creating better sightlines to both entrances
• Outdoor space: solicit designs for larger scale
exterior gathering spaces, completion date
dependent on funding
• New program space: construction of new
veterinary technician program space with a target
completion of fall 2026.
• Student housing: planning and design for on-
campus student housing
