The college’s bookstore and café complete a
major remodel.

2012 Groundbreaking began on the child development
center. The Board of Regents renamed the college as
Great Falls College Montana State University
The Child Development Center construction was
completed in December 2012. The center opened
January 2013.

2013 Great Falls College MSU received a grant from
the US Economic Development Authority to
expand the Welding Technology program to
address the workforce needs of companies
moving into north central Montana. The grant
pays for major remodeling of the trades building
to add a manufacturing center and moves the
carpentry program into the main building.

2014 Great Falls College MSU was awarded $325,000
by Governor Steve Bullock on March 12 to assist
with the expansion of the welding technology
program. 2015
Remodeled trades building is completed in the
fall. Program capacity in welding is increased to
cohorts of 25 students.

2018 Repair becomes cost prohibited on the college’s
wind turbine, and the turbine is dismantled and
removed 2019
Funding received from the legislature for building
a new dental clinic and laboratory for the Dental
Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs. Planning
and design for the new space begin in fall 2019.

2020 Campus utilities are rerouted and an additional
parking lot access point was added in anticipation
of the start of construction. Construction begins
on the new 17,000 square foot dental clinic
addition & remodel.

2021 Construction is complete on the dental clinic
addition and ready for students in the fall semester.

The clinic includes 11,000 square feet of new
space and 6,000 square feet of remodeled space.
