Purpose
The purpose of the Tenure & Promotion Committee is to promote excellence in teaching and learning and to ensure a fair and comprehensive review of candidates applying for tenure and/or promotion.
Areas of Responsibility
- As outlined in the Faculty Tenure and Promotion Policy 203.1, it is the responsibility of the Tenure and Promotion Committee to:

- Review Professional Development plans from faculty seeking promotion
- Review Tenure and Promotion portfolios from faculty and make recommendations to the CEO/Dean concerning tenure and promotion applications
- Evaluate and update the Committee policy and procedures annually
- Maintain confidentiality
- Represent divisions equally
Membership
Members of the Tenure & Promotion Committee will include:
- two (2) faculty members from the Health Science Division;
- one (1) faculty member from Career and Technical Education (CTE) Division;
- three (2) faculty members from the General Studies Division;
- Director of Human Resources (non-voting member)
Term Limits
Faculty members must be tenured and shall be elected by the appropriate division for a four-year term.
