Meet our Tutors!
Meet Alex
Hello, my name is Alex. I’ve been attending Great Falls College for about a year, pursuing an Associates of Science. Tutoring in the ASC gives me the privilege to help and encourage people. Tutoring has taught me a lot since you never really understand a subject until you’ve tried to teach it. I’m excited to learn about all the intricacies of math, and I hope I can help others explore and understand it too. From the teachings of my instructors and knowledge of the people that I’ve helped tutor, I hope that I can take all that I’ve learned to pursue my dream of obtaining a PhD in mathematics.
Meet Amanda
I’m a current student completing my prerequisites to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse. As a writing tutor, I enjoy helping students build confidence and clarity in their writing.
Meet Brent
Brent has been tutoring writing at Great Falls College for eight years: six in person, two online. They pride themselves on offering clear, friendly and judicious advice to students from all disciplines and on preparing cavatappi with a toothsome sauce-to-noodles ratio.
Meet Courtney
My name is Courtney, and I am currently a student at Great Falls College, where I began my journey in Spring 2023. I am set to graduate in Spring 2025 and am proudly pursuing an Associate of Arts in Substance Abuse and Addiction Counseling. Since Fall 2024, I’ve been helping fellow students hone their writing skills as a tutor in the Academic Success Center. After graduating, I will transfer to the University of Montana to pursue a degree in Social Work, combining my passions for advocacy, mental health and making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
Meet Helen
I am new to the Academic Success Center as a tutor. This is my first block for being available as a tutor, but I have mentored many of my fellow students within our course studies of Accounting and Office Management. The courses that I tutor in are Accounting 101, 102, 201 and 202 along with most of the MicroSoft Office platforms. I am working on two degrees, Accounting and Office Management & Supervision.
Meet Joe
My name is Joseph Torrez. I have been a student here at Great Falls College since Fall of 2021 and will graduate in May 2025. I am currently finishing the Substance Abuse & Addictions Counseling program before I move on to get my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work. Counseling and therapy are what I am passionate about, and I look forward to the next step after graduation. I am the receptionist in the Academic Success Center and can help with any questions you have, or I will point you in the right direction to someone who can.
Meet Judner
I first became a tutor during my junior of college in writing and then chemistry. I personally benefited from chemistry tutoring myself. I enjoy tutoring and being tutored. I now enjoy tutoring biology and chemistry at Great Falls College.
Meet Kyle
I am from New Hampshire where I spent 12 years in the Army National Guard as medic and earned a BS in Business Management from University of New Hampshire. I changed civilian careers from financial services to work as a paramedic in Maine and New Hampshire for six years before applying to medical school in 2023. I am currently a medical student at Touro University with hopes of becoming either a cardiologist or a critical care physician.
Meet Michael
I am a former student with an associate degree in accounting, and a tutor for 10 years. I tutor math, accounting and computers. I have a job as a bookkeeper besides tutoring.
Meet Saana
I am a first-year medical student, and I am tutoring chemistry, biology and some math. I have a degree in exercise physiology from Florida State University with minors in chemistry and biology. I have some tutoring experience from undergrad and really enjoy working with others in an engaging and accessible way.
Meet Taryn
I have a bachelor’s degree in media arts from the University of Montana and an Associates of Arts from Great Falls College. I have been a tutor at the Academic Success Center for years and love seeing the ‘lightbulb’ moment when a student finally understands something they were struggling with. I tutor math, computers and HTML.
