Everything you need to be ready for your first day at Great Falls College

Welcome to Dual Enrollment! This guide will walk you through the essential steps to get logged in, set up and ready to succeed in your college classes.

Know your Student IDs

  • Assigned to all Montana State University students
  • This ID stays the same across MSU campuses (Bozeman, Billings, Northern and Great Falls College)
  • Found on the enrollment letter mailed to you
  • 8 numbers preceded by a dash (example: -01234567)
  • Your personal login ID for Great Falls College systems
  • Used to access:
    • MyMSU-Great Falls College
    • Canvas
    • Microsoft Tools (Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • 7 characters of letters and numbers (example: a12b345)
  • You’ll create (claim) your NetID during your first login

Complete these steps for success!

This is your first and most important step. Once claimed, you’ll use your NetID for nearly everything at Great Falls College.

This is your student hub. In MyMSU, you can: view your class schedule, access unofficial transcripts, check and pay your bill and see what textbooks and materials you need

Canvas is where your classes live. Be sure to complete the Canvas Passport module, which covers: assignments, quizzes, syllabi, submitting work and communicating with instructors.

Need help with technology? OTTER Tips has you covered. OTTER Tips can help you: claim your FREE Microsoft Office account andd understand tech requirements for classes. Hint: You’ll need a laptop – Chromebooks won’t work for most courses.

Shop in person at the campus bookstore or online You’ll need your course materials by the first day of class.

Good news – Dual Enrollment bills aren’t due until mid-semester. You can view your bill in MyMSU–Great Falls College and you will receive a mailed bill as well. Call Student Accounts with questions at (406) 771-5129.
