GREAT FALLS – Great Falls College MSU will begin hosting Open Mic Nights this fall.
Performers of all ages are invited to share their talents in poetry, dance, music, comedy, storytelling and more at these monthly events.
“I am interested in finding ways of bringing creative people together on campus and in our community, and I decided the way I could be most useful is to provide a free public venue for anyone that wants to perform,” said Dr. Sam Krahn, music professor at Great Falls College MSU. “I thought back to my own experiences with open mic nights, which were really useful in developing my skills as a performer.”
Open Mic Nights will be held on the following dates, all Tuesdays:
All events run from 7-9 p.m. in Heritage Hall at Great Falls College MSU, 2100 16th Ave. S.
All material must be appropriate for all ages. Political stump speeches and sales pitches are not allowed.
“I’m hoping this event will begin to bring together a network of creative people that can exchange ideas and provide feedback to each other on their work,” Krahn said. “I also want this to be a fun experience for anyone to be spontaneous and try something new, whether it is reading poetry or singing in a barbershop quartet.”
