Why Choose Great Falls College's CDL Program?

Our program brings businesses and people together providing an opportunity to obtain your Class A license and provide immediate job placement. Our program is unique in the state of Montana and we couldn't do it without our community business partners. This is a win-win for job seekers and businesses. We have smaller class sizes and an experienced staff who are dedicated to YOUR success.

Informational Sessions (mandatory)

Attend one of our informational sessions to learn about details of the program, application requirements, class format, class schedules, and funding opportunities. No registration required.

The next informational session is scheduled for May 1, 2024 @ 5:30pm in Rm. G45/46. Park in south (back) parking lot and enter through Door #6.

Program Overview

Our collaborative framework pairs education and industry for optimal CDL training results. This innovative approach to addressing the workforce shortage of CDL drivers in our community. An advisory group comprised of Chamber Members, Great Falls College MSU, Job Service Great Falls, and various Industry Leaders have been meeting since January building this program that allows opportunity for talent pipeline development in this high demand field.

Admission Requirements/Pre-Requisites

Admission to the program is open to all individuals who can meet the following requirements/pre-requisites:

  1. Applicants must be 18 years or older
  2. A valid State Driver's License
  3. Must possess a certified birth certificate or valid passport

  5. Provide a copy of your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), follow this link to obtain one: https://dojmt.gov/driving/driving-records/

  7. Pass a drug test - complete after other pre-requisites and after payment is submitted

 

Class Schedule

We follow a hybrid format which means you will be required to do online modules at home and attend class in-person.

About our Instructors

Our instructors bring over 30 years of combined experience to the classroom and are passionate about teaching individuals to be safe drivers.

Christine Wheeler

Chris has over 30 years' experience as a professional driver. She has driven over 3 million miles safely with no accidents.

She has experience driving a wide variety of trucks, trailers, and freight. Chris has driven all lower 48 states and Canada. 

She received numerous safe driver awards and driver of the month awards three different times. Heroically she received the Medal of Freedom in Operation Iraqi Freedom. She lives on a small farm by Belt where she raises cows, horses, sheep, dogs, cats, chickens, and bee hives. Chris loves to cook, crochet, create stained glass, and many other hobbies. 

 

Jeremy Hitchcock

Jeremy Hitchcock was born in Whitefish, MT and grew up in the Sun River Valley. He worked in the trucking and safety industry since graduating high school. He is happily married with 5 children. Jeremy loves helping and encouraging students to succeed.
