Flagger Certification
To become a certified flagger in Montana, you must complete a flagger training program. You must be at least 18 years old and have a valid state ID or driver’s license to take the one-day class.
Program Details
- The one-day class runs once a month in March
- Includes training for Low Pressure Steam Boilers and 3rd Class Boiler Operator certification.
- The class typically runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Cost is typically $99

- The five parts of a traffic control work zone
- Flagging duties and responsibilities
- Proper flagging techniques
- Use of signaling devices, such as flags, signs and paddles
