What is eduroam?

eduroam (education roaming) is a secure wireless network that is available to participating universities and institutions in the United States and abroad. It allows traveling GFC students, faculty, and staff to securely connect to the Internet at any institution that is an eduroam member.

When do I use eduroam?

Traveling GFC faculty, staff, and students use eduroam when visiting other eduroam-enabled institutions. Access the eduroam network using your GFCMSU Net ID and password.

Configure the eduroam connection on your device before traveling so that you can test the connection.

How do I connect to eduroam?

Access eduroam using your GFC NetID and NetID password. 
To connect:

  1. Choose eduroam from the list of available networks.
  2. Enter [email protected] in the Username field.
    For example: [email protected]
  3. Enter your NetID password in the Password field.

How do I configure my devide to use eduroam?

eduroam configuration settings
Wireless Network Name (SSID): eduroam
NetID: GFCMSU NetID (for example, a12b345)
Password:  NetID Password
Wireless Security Type: WPA2-Enterprise (802.1x/EAP)
EAP Type:  PEAP
Authentication Protocol:  MS-CHAP-V2
Valdiate Server Certificate:  Trusted Root CA
