Research Help with a Librarian
Weaver Library provides research help to all students at Great Falls College MSU.
What can a librarian help with?
Our librarian can help with a variety of research needs including:
- brainstorming keywords and search strategies
- demonstrating how to use a research database
- suggesting appropriate subject databases and resources for your research topic
- finding full-text for a known citation
- APA and MLA citations and formatting
For assistance with writing and essay review, please see the Academic Success Center website for information about writing tutors.
In-person research help
Drop in research help is generally available at Weaver Library Monday-Fridays from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. There will be times that the librarian is not immediately available to provide assistance, in which case library staff will provide you with contact information to reach out and schedule a meeting.
Rather than dropping in, you may also schedule a one-on-one appointment with the librarian by filling out a booking request form. The form will ask you a little bit about your research needs, your preferred meeting modality, and will provide you with an up-to-date calendar to schedule with.
Virtual research help
We know that many of our students take online classes and do not live close to campus. We also provide research consultations virtually via TEAMS (video) or phone call. For virtual research help, please schedule a one-on-one appointment with the librarian by filling out booking request.
