Clinical Rotations & Internship

  • Clinical I - Begins in October of your second semester in the surgical tech program
    • Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:00am - 3:30pm
  • Clinical II – Begins January of your third semester
    • Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:00am - 3:30pm
  • Internship -  begins after spring break of the third semester
    • Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm
  • Flexibility is a requirement.  Due to your preceptors’ schedule, number of preceptors, operating room schedules, etc., schedules and location of the clinical may vary.  You may be required to relocate for 6-9 weeks to ensure all students get enough surgical cases.

Additional requirements must be met prior to clinical rotation:

Students should begin planning early for financial aid to meet their educational goals. See the campus catalog for program tuition. In addition to regular college tuition and fees, students will be required to fund/purchase the following during the program:

    • Textbooks/Workbooks
    • Lab Fees
    • Immunizations
    • Surgical scrubs; 2 pair
    • Comfortable professional shoes
    • Transportation costs
    • Relocation costs, including room and board at distant clinical sites (all considerations will be reviewed before decisions are made for relocating)
    • Health insurance
    • Background check -  $82.50
    • Drug test.
    • Current CPR (Health Care Provider)
